About

My name is Christelle Auzas and I'm a skateboarder who loves to share my passion with others.

I began skateboarding at 12 years old out of pure interest in the sport. I was self-taught, and often the only girl in the skatepark. Although I was intimidated, my determination and love for the sport helped me persevere. I have entered various competitions, I am involved in the community, and have skateboarded around the world.

I have been teaching skateboarding for 8 years. I first became a skateboard instructor in 2015 through Skate Like A Girl in Portland. I coached group lessons and summer camps with a team of amazing coaches who I learned my skills from. I encouraged and supported young skaters with positive mindsets of confidence, patience, and determination.

I moved to Eugene, Oregon in 2017 and noticed that there weren't many women at the skatepark. Each time I interacted with girls or any beginner I used my teaching skills to help them learn quicker, and I encouraged them to keep skateboarding through positive feedback. I started a girls skateboarding group in 2018, which you can read about here.

I decided in 2020 to start teaching private skateboarding lessons. I've taught people from ages 5 to 60 years old. Many parents come to me with the intention of just their kid learning, and the parents end up skateboarding too!

It brings me immense amounts of joy to see my students progression in their skillset and developing a love for the sport.

I like to emphasize that the most important part about skateboarding is to "have fun!"
